Text

Dear Mr. President

In this day, when American Independence is celebrated with as much enthusiasm in France as in America, the five Academies composing the “Institut de France” have united to send their greetings to the head of the great sister Republic now taking part with us in the fight for Liberty.
It is my privilige to forward you herewith the text of their telegram just received. I beg to add, as the Representative of France and a life long friend and admirer of this country, my heartfelt congratulations and wishes for its leader who has written his name in history as one of the men whose acts will have proved most influential in the cause of Independence.
I have the honor to be, dear Mr. President

Very Sincerely and respectfully yours
Jusserand
