Text

Dear Mr. Hoover

The President has been asked by the officials of the American Bible Society to issue an appeal in furtherance of their campaign to raise a fund for the purchase of Bibles for the men of the Army and Navy, to culminate in a nation-wide observance of Sunday, December 9th, as Bible Sunday. The President has asked me to inquire whether this date has been preempted for anything else of the kind, so far as the Food Administration is concerned.

Sincerely yours,

JP Tumulty
Secretary to the President.
