ORDER

Now that we are nearing the end of the second record breaking trip of the MOUNT VERNON, the Captain desires to express his deep appreciation of the zeal, patriotism, and devotion to duty that has actuated the officers and men of this ship.
In the Captian's thirty-two years of naval service, it has never been his privilege to witnes a like exhibition of zeal and devotion to duty that has been shown on this ship in the last three weeks.
It has been the practice for the Captain to show by actions rather than by words his affection and devotion to the men under his command, but in this instance he cannot refrain from expressing his pride in having the honor to command a ship manned by this company of officers and men.
Such devotion to duty on the part of the officers and men has made this a marked ship, so let us all keep up the good work.
