Dear Sir

We desire to thank you for the interest you have shown in the welfare of the miners of Colorado, and we are especially pleased that you saw fit to assign Secretary of Labor W. B. Wilson, for whom we have a high regard, to assist in bringing about a settlement of the present serious coal strike.
While no settlement was obtained, it was due to no fault of Secretary Wilson, who worked hard and diligently for a number of days to find an equitable solution of the present conflict.

With assurances of our high personal regard, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Frank J. Hayes
Vice-President U. M. W. of A.
