Text

My dear Mr. Logan:

That was a singularly generous letter you wrote me on November 6th. It has more than cheered and pleased me; it has touched me very deeply.

I am of course disturbed by the result of Tuesday’s elections, because they create obstacles to the settlement of the many difficult questions which throng so on every side, but I have an implicit faith in Divine Providence and I am sure that by one means or another the great thing we have to do will work itself out, and you may be sure that letters such as yours do not a little to clear the mists away.

Cordially and sincerely yours,

[Woodrow Wilson]

Mr. Thomas F. Logan,
