The President,
Washington, DC
My dear Mr. President:
Have just finished reading your speech delivered yesterday, in New York. I endorse every word. I have four boys sons and sons-in-law who are in the service and another one in second class; one is in France now in the Field Artillery. Please have this speech written in pamphlet form and send to each one of our soldiers in France so they will understand what we are fighting for. Your speech will make them better fighters. I believe the living and true God held your hand in writing this address. Don’t you think our boys attention should be called to the God of Stonewall Jackson and Joshua; these great men never cursed nor used profanity and our boys should follow their steps. God bless you is my prayer and may He continue to direct you in leading us to victory.
RO Alexander.
