Text

In reply re-
fer to NE-M.

My dear Mr. President:

Professor Masaryk has sent me a statement made by one of his officers, who has just reached this country, Captain Hurban.

I believe you may find it worth while to glance through this inspiriting narrative of the organization and progress of the Czecho-Slovaks from the Ukraine, nearly six thousand miles to Vladivostok. The troops displayed good temper, discipline, intelligence, and courage of the highest order. Only men animated by fine aspirations could have done what they did.

Faithfully yours,
Robert Lansing

Enclosure:
Report by an
officer of
the Czecho-Slovak
Army.

The President
The White House.
