Dearest;-
I am coming home, barring accidents, on Friday; that is, arriving Saturday morning Liverpool St. I think about 9 as usual. Would you mind sending the car; of course if you like to come, do so, but the hour may not be convenient and it is winter time, so don’t bother unless you want to. Bill could come along anyway if Betty will kick him out of bed in good time. I am much disappointed not being able to bring any presents this time; there is nothing worth the price here, so must fix it up in other ways.
I just got yours of the 16th – quick work! And I only knew about coming home this afternoon, following a telegram from Mr. Collins.
All the correspondents here are sick of Berlin, and would like to quit. I can well understand their feelings; I will tell you all about it soon. Both Patrick and Pugh have written in terms approaching enthusiasm about the new offices, so I reckon it must be a success on the whole.
So we will have a happy reunion soon. Ta-ta, moo! Hope to find all OK.
Thine Jack
