Dear Daddy,
I hope we will soon be over beside you. We have had a lovely time at Newcastle. Little Arthur is such a big boy now and he is such a jolly chap. They are all well.
We have seen Howard and Marjorie. We spent a day there. The little baby, she is such a dear.
Grandma has such a nice flat. Bekker is such a big boy now. I was so sorry to have to leave Newcastle. We saw such a lot of floods as we came in the train, some nearly as big as the Thames.
Love from Mary,
to Daddy
