NOTE
There were no selections at the Annual Meeting November 7, 1934. Thereafter the names of 42 candidates were submitted to a Special Committee, and after a careful poll of all resident members the Committee, at the adjourned meeting November 28, 1934, reported that, of those suggested, two were not members of the Metropolitan Club and therefore ineligible, and 7 had not been objected to. The 7 whose names appear in the enclosed notice were then presented and seconded by members not on the Special Committee and, objections being called for separately, no objections were made. There was no response to a call for further nominations.
At the annual meeting November 7, 1934 Resolutions were adopted which reduced the interval following a meeting at which selections are made from 5 weeks to 3 weeks and prescribed the form of written objections. Copies may be obtained from the Secretary.
The resident members present at the meeting November 28, 1934 were: Clover, Hale, C., Howe, Legare, AB, Little, McCawley, Mitchell, Roosevelt, Spencer, Thom, Washington, Wilkins, Wright, WM
Selections:
Under the rules as amended by Resolution adopted at the Annual Meeting of November 7, 1934 there will be an interval of three weeks, terminating on Wednesday, December 19, 1934, during which any resident members of the Club not present at the meeting November 28, 1934 may record his objection to the election of any of the above named selected candidates by causing his written objection to be delivered by mail, telegram or otherwise, addressed to the Secretary at his office, 1819 H Street NW, on or before Wednesday, December 19, 1934. Such a letter should be in a sealed envelope marked “Personal”.
