My dear General
I was delighted to learn of your recent promotion to the grade of Brigadier General. I have been pulling and rooting for you for a long time and I feel very happy over your selection. I know of no one who is more deserving of this promotion than yourself. I hope the time will not be far distant when I shall have the pleasure of seeing you again. I have heard from time to time of your good work in Mexico. With personal regards,
Sincerely yours,
