My dear Grayson

Some one is circulating stories that the Chief’s health is giving way, and that he is not able to go on a tour.

I should like to deny this with authority, for I am often asked.

How are the blood pressure and examination of specimens?

I shall be glad to do all I can to combat this propaganda.

I hope you found your family well on your recent visit to Connecticut.

How splendidly he is doing! He will yet win out. Give him my love.

With kindest regards and best wishes
Sincerely Yours,

Edward P. Davis
