Text
Dearest,
We arrived here safely this morning, and the President was given a great ovation by every one here. I had lunch with Miss Edith yesterday, she is surely counting on your staying with her.
I have our present—frames—already for your approval—they are Miss Edith’s selection—also—have Sterling’s present; so hurry and come on to Washington. I am getting more impatient and more anxious for you every hour.
I love you, dear—In haste,
Cary—
