Dear Mr. Wheeler:
I informed Admiral Grayson over long-distance telephone of the receipt of your letter of August 14th. He was unable to get down to New York City to act as pall bearer at Mr. Bender’s funeral.
The Admiral has had a terrific time with the case of Shingles about which I wrote you sometime ago. He still is not entirely recovered but is able to be up and around, and gets along fairly well if he doesn’t exert himself. He hopes to return to Washington to a modified schedule on or about the middle of September.
Sincerely yours,
Gladys R. Newman
Secretary
