Text

My dear Grayson

I have just learned from Roper of your contribution to my headquarters fund and I want you to know how deeply I appreciate it. My only regret is that you contributed to a lost cause, so far as I personally am concerned but I hope the cause itself may survive the manhandling it got in the New York Convention.

I sincerely hope that you are all right again. I was disturbed to hear that you had been ill.

We are having a very agreeable trip except for the weather which has been atrocious. I have spent most of my time at Carlsbad and this place, taking a cure and after-cure, which has been more of a rest cure than anything else.

Nell joins me in love to you and Gertrude.

Devotedly yours,

WG McAdoo
