Dearest Trudie

The enclosed clipping explains the situation about as I know, at present. Mr. Woodward is coming to see me this afternoon. I am anxious to see what light, if any, he reveals. I went to Havre de Grace, the first time, since Ollie Jame’s death. My Own and all the horses doing well—except Salubria had a minor accident. I am afraid she will not be able to race before Pimlico—McLean rode Rock Pocket in a poor performance on his part—He jungled her in and out—a race of confusion what to do all the way—using poor judgment—or none—all the way.

Martin won the first race with his two year old—Bees—paying $8.70 to one—He had $10—each for you and Mrs. Barklie and $50—each for Arch and me. Pretty fine—nice—Trainer; Isn’t he! I have engaged plasterer for morning and will attend to all you mention in your letter.

Bernie is spending & here. I saw Arthur Hellen yesterday and had a nice chat with him. George Harrison is here with his car and Hall. I will call him and thank him for the car to Belmont etc. My Own and Zen seems to be the chief topic of conversation here—nearly all in favor of My Own. I shall certainly be glad when you and the boys are safely home. I miss you terribly.

Let me know if I do anything to help lessen your burdens of moving home—As soon as I have any definite news about the match race will wire you. Love to the boys and most to their darling mother—

CTG.
