Text

Dear Sweetheart

Before going to bed I want to tell you that I love you and while I have had a long busy day I have not forgotten my precious darling—This morning the President did not feel up to a game of golf, so we stayed home. I spent the entire day with the Board. It is interesting but very hard and tiring—so much reading—The President shows signs more marked than ever of not taking the Western Trip.

Some one leaked to the papers about the trip and he dosn’t like it a bit. He thought it occurred in the RR administration and Mr M did not like that—& so it goes—Dr Rixey was sitting up to-day, but he is extremely weak—I dined with Dr Boyd to-night. Says that he is going to send you some candy. It is now after eleven o’Clock. I wish that I could kiss you good-night—dear—
