Dear Mr. Grayson

Your letter of November 21st, has been received and should have been answered earlier, but I have been out to my ranch, I mean my big ranch in the west, for several days and just returned and found your letter awaiting me. I also received the letter that you promised to write me and I am very thankful to you for it. I do not know how any one could improve on the letter that you have been so kind to send me and I will publish it in our home paper, also Dallas and maybe Houston. I think it will add greatly to the minds of our people in Texas. You know racing in Texas is something new to the people and they have to be educated to racing before they will ever take an active interest in it, but a letter from you, as well known as you are and from as great a man as you, will add to the minds of our people and they will take notice of just a letter as you have sent me to have published in our Texas papers.

I also have a long letter from Mr. Hay, writing me about his great stallion Paicines. Col. Hay is very anxious to sell me this horse and I am answering his letter today and telling him that it would be impossible for me to purchase the horse this year, even thought he is as great as he describes him. He refers me to you to pass on his breeding, but even though you should pass on him as being the best bred horse in Kentucky, at this time I do not feel that I would be justified in buying this animal.

I do not know whether Mrs. Waggoner and myself will ever be in Washington or not, but should we ever come there, we would be only to glad to look you up and your good wife and spend most of our time with you. I am awfully glad that I have had a chance of becoming acquainted with as great a man as you and I hope in the near futuer I will have the pleasure of me ting you some place in the racing world and again enjoying a nice visit with you.

With best of wishes to you and your little family, I will say good-bye for this time. I am as ever

Your friend,

WT Waggoner
