ARLINGTON DOWNS is not only one of the finest racing plants in this country but will compare favorably with that at Buenos Aires, recognized as the finest in the world.

This opinion was expressed Friday afternoon by William G. McAdoo, former Secretary of the Treasury, after he had attended the races and inspected the Waggoner stock farm and racing plant.

“The layout of the track, the grounds and the plant are admirable,” he remarked, “and when the plans for beautification that have already been started are developed, it certainly will be a beauty spot.

“Clean horse racing I regard as one of the finest sports in the world and an important contribution to the raising of thoroughbred livestock. I think Mr. Waggoner should be congratulated, not only for having built what all competent judges regard as one of the finest racing plants in the Nation, but for his outstanding contribution to the raising of thoroughbred horses. I am confident that the building of his racing plant and the development of his magnificent stock farm will result in marked progress of thoroughbred horse raising in Texas, which will be of benefit to the stock raisers and the State itself.”

McAdoo, who has been in the city for two days in connection with the proposed air service from Los Angeles to New York, via the southern route by the Southern Skylines, Inc., of which he is chairman, will leave this morning for Houston. He is en route East and is traveling by plane.
