My dear Mr. President

Referring to the case of the "Milwaukee Leader" mentioned in the telegram to you of the 4th instant from Honorable Daniel W. Hoan, Mayor of Milwaukee, I attach hereto a typewritten transcript of the hearing before the Third Assistant Postmaster General on September 22nd, which contains a number of quotations from various issues of this publication, which show the general character of matter published therein. The marked portions on pages 3 to 7, inclusive, are types of the matter carried in various issues of this publication.
