Text
My dear Brother
Woodrow Wilson
I do not quite know what your agent in Mississippi means by the people in the Southern “sticks,” but I take leave to grant doubt whether he is wholly right in the report he makes to you. We are by no means idle about the matter of keeping the people of the country informed as to all matters concerning the war and its causes and purposes and necessities which it involves, and a recent letter from Senator Williams, who has made an extended tour of Mississippi, leaves upon me quite a different impression from that which Mr. Williams expresses. But in any case we are on the job!
In haste, with love from us all,
Woodrow Wilson
