Text

My dear Mr. Catlett:–

It was thoughtful and generous of you to send me your correspondence with the Speaker of the House. It is certainly a most extraordinarty thing that he should condescend to solicitation of that sort. I have had evidences from other parts of the country that the same thing was going on elsewhere. I cannot believe that such methods will succeed. They will only be resented by all honorable men liek yourself.
With warm appreciation of your reply to him and of your kindness to me,

Cordially yours,
Woodrow Wilson
