Text

My precious Jessie

It made me very happy to get your sweet, loving letter. I have told mama all there is to tell of what I am doing; this is just a line to thank you and to tell you how sweet it is to have you love me so. I have the sweetest, finest daughters in the world. You make me so proud and thankful—and your love sustains me in the midst of all sorts of things hard to bear almost to heart-breaking. How delightful it will be to be at home again—and to have you all in my arms again!Give as much love as they want to Margaret and Nell and Madge and Stock, and be sure, my noble little daughter, that I am

Your devoted
Father
