My dear Jessie
Your mother is in bed with one of her very heavy colds. Dr. Wyckoff assures us that it is the sort she has had frequently and that all will soon be well. But today her throat is so inflamed that she can scarcely speak above a whisper.
She asked me to write to you and tell you to write to her soon. Also she sends word that the box was expressed to you yesterday.
You are not to be disturbed or distressed about her cold. All that is required is that she remain quiet in bed for a while.
I hope you are quite well and enjoying your privileges of a Senior. We are to see you at Thanksgiving time, are we not?
