Just a little letter to welcome you home. My but I am crazy to see you. You were a dear to write me such a lovely letter. I certainly was glad to get it. I wish you were coming tomorrow. Isn't there any possibility of your getting here tomorrow? Why in the world can't you do your laboratory work some other time?I hope that you won't be tired for Friday night. We certainly are gong to have a nice dinner then.
Tonight Tantchen and I are going to the Harper's to dinner, tomorrow to Mrs Coney's to lunch. I expect to be dead by the evening of Sat the 30th of March, after having been to dinners, music lessons, and four operas.Father went to a dinner the other day at which there were other prominent men, who began talking about him for the presidency again.Mother said that it is really getting very exciting. It was a private dinner, so Mother says not to mention it to any one. Oh why don't some one ask me to marry him, some fine man, so that I would be safe from the White-house. But I guess we won't really get there.
I am having a most interesting exciting time studying Parsifal to hear it again. Mr Brown and Mr Cook have helped me. Well dear since you are coming, and since I have nothing to tell you that wouldn't be much more lucidly said Iby word of mouth I will say goodbye, until Friday, maybe Thursday, though of course since we got your postal we won't expect you until Friday. Everybody is crazy to see you. With love inexpressible I am,
Margaret
