My dear Dr. Flinn:-
I greatly appreciate your kind letter of the 26th of January. It really gives me very deep comfort to hear such words about my father from those who really knew and appreciated him. I came here from Columbia feeling how much I was indebted to you for your kindness to me there.I am sorry to say that I have not details about George’s studies and preparation for teaching, which you desire. I doubt, however, whether thay are of great importance. The fact that he has had success as a teacher, and that he has the highest quality in scholarship and character ought to be the main facts that the North Carolina people want to know. I have no doubt that they will be telling facts.Sister Annie joins me in most cordial messages to you all.
