My dear Senator Glass:
A news item appeared in the papers yesterday to the effect that you were planning to sail for Europe at an early date. This suggests that you may be in New York long enough to see the Federal Reserve Bank. I am exceedingly anxious that you should do so, for what we do is so much better exhiebited by a look at the organization and its operations than in any other way, that I have long been hoping for an opportunity to show you through the building. It also suggests that if you are going to London, there are one or two of my friends there whom I am particularly anxious that you should meet. I don’t want to burden you with social or other obligations, but I would especially appreciate this opportunity to make you acquainted with Mr. Montagu Norman who, as you know, has been Governor of the Bank of England for the past five years, and if you can spare the time to have a visit with him, I am sure that he will make you acquainted with much of what is transpiring in London which would not be available from any other source. If there is anything else that I can do to make your trip interesting or agreeable, it will be a very great pleasure.
With kindest regards, believe me,
Sincerely yours,

Honorable Carter Glass,
Lynchburg, Virginia.
