Dear Ben: -
I have your letter this morning regarding Mr. Vaughan and also the letter of introduction which he presented himself. I have taken the matter up of granting him a special passport and have succeeded in obtaining permission for the issuance of the same. Mr. Vaughan is now in touch with the Passport Bureau, making out his applications, and I have every reason to believe that in the next few hours the passport will itself be granted or at least shortly sent to New York for him.If I do not see you again before you leave, I do hope you will have a very successful and pleasant trip. I wish I were going with you. With all good wishes for the best of luck,
