My dear Strong:
Yours of the 12th came duly to hand, and gave me genuine pleasure. Confidentially, I expect to open a law office in New York early in the spring, or just as soon as possible after I finish a two months’ vacation in California.I am glad that you are going to take a rest, and I hope that you will come back to your work, not only thoroughly reinvigorated, but completely cured. It gave me very great pleasure the other day to advocate a proper increase in your salary as governor and the salaries of the other officers of the Federal Reserve Bank.
