My dear Mr. Strong:
I have your letter of the 14th instant relative to shipping gold to Canada, and wish to thank you for your suggestions as well as for the statement of comparative cost of shipping in bars or eagles.
The matter has been taken up with the Bank of England and arrangements made with them to handle the remittance in the same manner that the previous transfer was made.
Mr. Wilmeth, the Treasury representative in London, has also been instructed to observe the same method of making disbursements of this remittance that he followed in handling the former one.
Assistant Secretary.
