Dear Mr. President

With regard to the monthly report on the activities of the Food Administration, I have asked for a report from each division head and from each State Food Administrator and will furnish these reports as an appenedix to a short summarized report from myself.

I have instructed the reports shall be prepared as quickly as possible covering the month of May, but the initial report will require a little more time for preparation than the subsequent one.

In order to have the matter constantly in hand, I have appointed Mr. Robert A. Taft, soneof ex-President Taft, who is a volunteer in our Legal Division, to take charge of this reporting work. I trust that this will meet with your approval.

Yours faithfully,
[Herbert Hoover]
