Dear Mr. President

Mr. Edmund Mitchell of Wilmington, Delaware, is endorsed by Governor Townsend, Senator Saulsbury, and many leading citizens of the State as fully qualified to act as Federal Food Administrator for Delaware. Mr. Josiah Marvel, who has been acting Food Administrator, also favors the appointment of Mr. Mitchell as Federal Food Administrator.

After careful investigation I am pleased to recommend Mr. Mitchell for this position. His name was one of four passed by Mr. McCormick.Mr. Mitchell is Vice-President of the Wilmington Gas Company and is prepared to undertake the work if appointed. He is about fifty-five years old, and is described as forceful, a good organizer and favorably known throughout the State.

I shall appreciate hearing from you at your convenience in regard to the above.

Faithfully yours,

Herbert Hoover
