S i r:-

At the regular meeting of the Board of Managers of the New York Produce Exchange held this day, the following resolutions which explain themselves, were unanimously adopted:

WHEREAS in the judgment of the Board of Managers of the New York Produce Exchange the production and marketing of the staple food supplies of the country, Wheat, Corn, Oats, etc. has become of such vital importance that regulations beyond those of the ordinary mercantile channels will be required,

BE IT RESOLVED: that the New York Produce Exchange hereby pledges its hearty co-operation in the compliance with and endorsement of such rules and regulations as the Department of Agriculture may promulgate, and further, hereby tenders the records, statistics, and equipment of this organization and any assistance its membership can give in the preparation of such rules and regulations. This membership is greatly diversified, combining receiving, distributing and shipping interests of long experience and large importance, and among its members are many experienced men who would willingly give their whole time to the service of our country if the Secretary of Agriculture can make use of them. This is now a period when individual interests and business must be subverted to that of the Nation.

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED: that the President be directed to place this offer before the President of the United States and his Secretary of Agriculture, in the hope that they can find it of some assistance in solving the tremendous problems they now face.

Representatives of this Exchange who are now in Washington have been requested to present in person to the Honorable Secretary of Agriculture these resolutions, and give him such further information relating to this offer as he might wish.

Respectfully,

sgd William H. Kemp
PRESIDENT.
