Woodrow Wilson tells Henry Alden that Mr. Pyle is looking over a copy of his manuscript. He also thanks him for loaning him the Byrd from the Columbia College for two weeks.

My dear Mr. Alden,

Mr. Pyle came to Princeton yesterday. His train was late in arriving, and he had to hurry away, so that we had very little time together; but I think we came to a perfect and very satisfactory understanding about the illustrations.

I gave him the manuscript of my article, the copy I made for the printer, and the only one I have except my first draught. He promised to have it copied for his own use, and to send it to you by next Saturday, the 31st.

I am very much obliged to you indeed for the Byrd from the Columbia Library. I will carefully observe the limit of two weeks. I will, to save you trouble, return the book direct to the Librarian of Columbia College.
