I knew you would take my suggestion as you did take it and am only sorry you gave yourself the trouble of explaining. I already understood both your motive and your method, and you have been generous as usual.

Thank you heartily for your poll of the Virginia Congressmen. I dare say that nothing but plain evidences of popular opinion will settle their opinions.
