Hall of Jefferson Society,<space dim="horizontal" extent="3" units="em"></space><br /><date value="1880-10-16"><br /></date>The house was called to order at 7 o’clock, <person reg="Woodrow Wilson" link-pointer-type="person">President Wilson</person> in the chair, & proceeded to the regular order of business—There being no question for debate before the Society, this head was passed over. It was then moved that a Committee be appointed to suggest members of the Faculty as judges in awarding the Magazine medal. Carried. The Question Committee then submitted its report, from which questions for one and two weeks hence were selected & debaters appointed as follows: <render as="underscore" rend="inherit">One week hence</render> “Should the feature of ministerial responsibility be adopted in the Constitution of the U.S. cabinet?” On the <render as="underscore" rend="inherit">Aff</render>: Messrs. <person reg="Byron Reynolds" link-pointer-type="person"><render as="underscore" rend="inherit">Reynolds</render></person>. <person reg="Charles L. Andrews" link-pointer-type="person"><render as="underscore" rend="inherit">Andrews</render></person>. <person reg="Thomas Atkinson" link-pointer-type="person"><render as="underscore" rend="inherit">Atkinson</render></person>. On the <render as="underscore" rend="inherit">Neg:</render> Messrs. <person reg="Charles M. Kent" link-pointer-type="person">Treasurer</personref> then reported that he had paid the cost of publication of <person reg="Richard B. Hubbard" link-pointer-type="person">Gov<render as="superscript" rend="inherit">r</render> Hubbard’s</person> address before the Societies of last session. <person reg="Walter S. Lefevre" link-pointer-type="person">Mr. Lefevre</person> moved the appointment of a committee to estimate the cost of refitting the Society Hall. Carried. <person reg="Richard Heath Dabney" link-pointer-type="person">Mr. Dabney</person> moved that a committee be <del status="unremarkable">appointed</del> <add>elected</add> to <word altform="draft">draught</word> a new constitution & Bylaws—Tabled.
