The President, to the Commissioners to the International Conference on Safety of Life at Sea, at the White House.

To Representative Alexander:
I do not want you to go away without expressing to you and to these gentlemen the pride that I feel personally in the way in which the Government was represented at this conference; for I have much independent evidence to the effect that the impression made by this delegation in London was an admirable impression, both inside the conference and out of it. I have reason to congratulate our country on being so represented and I believe from everything that I have learned that the advice of the members of this delegation was influential upon a great many particulars that entered into this convention itself. I want personally and officially to congratulate you.

THE END.
