Text

My dear Hughes

I am very much concerned, as I am sure you are, to see the committee that has charge of it, get the bill for the relief of the seamen ready for consideration at an early period in the regular session. I understand that the committee is practically doing nothing about it, and I thought I would ask you if you would not be kind enough to find out from Senator Clark just what the disposition of the committe is.

It is delightful to have you to turn to.

Hon. William Hughes,
United States Senate.
