Dear Mr. President:
Here is a touching appeal from Mr. Mueller of the Abendpost, Chicago, to permit the German societies in the United States to do all they can to give relief to the starving people in Germany. This seems to me a reasonable as well as a humane request. I pass it along for you for such disposition as you may think best. Will you not be good enough to advise Mr. Mueller direct of your action, or authorize me to do so?
Cordially yours,
WGMcAdoo
