Text
Translation of the German
**************************
The armistice having been concluded, the German Government now begs the President of the United States of America kindly to put under way the beginning of the peace negotiations. For the sake of expediting matters, it proposes that first of all the conclusion of a preliminary peace be taken into consideration, and that it be informed at what place and time the negotiations may begin.
Because of the threatening danger of famine, the German Government attaches great value to the immediate opening of negotiations.
