Text
Dear Governor:
Ambassador Page’s son called at the office. He says his father is very seriously ill, but “in his lucid moments” he talks about the necessity of reporting personally to the President. His son told him that he would come and report to the President for his father. His son thinks that a letter or a telegram from the President would reassure his father, and perhaps help him. I have already sent flowers with your card to the hospital.
