Dearest;

I knew you must be very busy at present, so did not worry at the little delay in hearing from you. Your letter of the 6th came today and I am glad to hear of the progress. Early this week I put in an advertisement and have already about 20 replies, together with a cartload of circulars from furniture removers and agency sharks. I have been told of a reliable agency by the Foreign Press Assn. and am going there on Monday, as unfortunately Enderis is away this week to see his sister who is undergoing a cure, and Lochner also being away makes us terribly short handed

None of the replies were from addresses in parts where I should like to live and it may be necessary to go a little further out although I still hope to get some chance for a flat in the neighborhood where I want to be. Several of the replies were also for smaller - or larger - flats than we need, so they are ruled out, too.

I think you should drop a card to Howden at the expiry of their policy, but I thought that was in July. If so, I can do it from here. I don't know of any papers in the top drawer of the chest in drawing room that we need except passports, identification card and birth & marriage certificates. I think all others can be stored. I quite agree with what you say about the books and with all you have done; I feel very grateful and Mary and I often say that "Mother is a brick."

No, there's nothing yet from Graff. Much interested to hear of Jim Bacon's marriage, I'm glad Minnie is pleased.

Mary phoned that she couldn't get Sunday off this time, but she will probably get 2 half days which pleases me just as well, as I can manage to do the late shift in the office and we can go house hunting together.

Colleagues from Warsaw to Amsterdam have sent me pictures of the flyers on which I appear; Lochner sent me a Handelsblad which he alleged was sold out in two hours, as every Dutchman wanted my picture - the dog! I have some excellent original photos but I won't send them as it only makes trouble for you to return them.

Much love dearest, may you all keep well!

                                                                     Thine,
                                                                         Jack.
