Mrs. Belle C. LaFollette,
1864 Wyoming Avenue, N. W.,
Washington, D. C.

Dear Madam:-

I have your letter of the 22nd instant, in which you request that I ask Mr. Ralph the names and addresses of the three colored girls who have persisted in sitting at the tables occupied by white girls after it had been suggested to them to occupy other tables with girls of their own race, and I will request Mr. Ralph to furnish you the names of the women referred to.

In the meanwhile, may I respectfully ask if you have not already received this information from other sources?

Respectfully yours,
[John Skelton Williams]
Assistant Secretary of the Treasury.
