Text

Mr. Wilson kept an electric search light on a little stand by his bed during the trying days of his illness in the White House, and throughout the night, when he would awake and call the nurse and frequently his physician, he would pick up the search light and turn it toward a picture of Mrs. Ellen Wilson. He would look at it intently for a few seconds before asking the doctor of the nurse what he would like them to do or what assistance he wished. This was not done a few times but literally hundreds of times. It was a routine matter with him.
