Secretary Bryabn lunched with the President, also Secretary Tumulty and Dr. Grayson. The President and Mr. Bryan discussed many little pleasntries, personalitites and experiences. Mr. Bryanjokimgly told of Mr. Dooley’s reference to him in the 1904 campaign as being related to Senator Henry Gassiway Davis, though the middle name (Gassiway).

After lunch Mr. Bryan and the President retired to the red room and discussed official matters.

At 3.30 the President accompanied by Dr. Grayson went out toh the Virginia Country Club for a game of golf. Played eleven holes. The score was a tie. Left the golf course at 5.30 and motored until 6.45 returning to the White House and the President and Secretary Tumulty and Dr. Grayson dined alone on the western terrace.

August 16th, 1913.
Secretary Tumulty left at 3.30 for Avon. NJ to visit his family The President and Dr. Grayson played golf as usual in Virginia. Dr. Grayson won by three holes.

Returned to the White House at 5.30., took a shower bath and at six o’clock the President and Dr. Grayspon went for an hour’s automobile ride though Rock Creek Park.

While the President and Dr. Grayson were alone at dinner they decided to go to see a show of some kind. Went to see “The Barrier at the Columbia Theater. Play was very good.

Saturday August 17, 1913.
The President and Dr. Grayson breakfasted alone and left the White House at 8.25, for the Virginia Country Club for the usual Saturday morning golf game. Played 11 holes. Tie. Returned to the White House at 10.55. The President worked until one o’clock, at which time he and Dr. Grayson lunched alone.

At two o’clock motored via Rockville Md.Gaithersville. Poolesville to Whites Ferry where we crossed the Potomac River on a ferry pushed by one man with a pole. After landing on the Virginia shore we motored to Leesburg, Virginia. Thence to Washington, arriving at the White House about 7.20, covering a distance of 85 miles. The President’s brother, Mr. Joseph Wilson, his wife, Mrs. Joseph Wilson and daughter Miss Alice Wilson came over from Baltimore to spend Sunday at the White House. All dined on the West Terrace.

The President retired at ten o’clock, after receiving the usual treatment with High Frequency given by his physician.

Sunday August 18, 1913.

The President went to Centarl Presbtyterian Church accompanied by his Brother, Mrs. Joseph Wilson and Miss Alice Wilson. All went for a motor ride at five o’clock via the Soldiers hHome route.

Secretary Tumulty returned from Avon. NJ about 11.30. P.M.
