ARRANGEMENTS FOR MISS WILSON’S WEDDING,
Tuesday
4:30 pm

Three entrances will be used on this occasion: The North, South and East.

The North Entrance will be used by the Vice President, the Members of the Cabinet, Ushers, the attending clergymen, the members of Mr. Sayre’s immediate family, who are to stahnd within the ropes, and the Aides of the White House: The South Entrance will be used by the Diplomatic Corps, Justices of the Supreme Court, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Representatives Mann, Underwood, Senator Kern, Admiral Dewey, General Wood and Members of the New Jersey Delegation. The main body of the guests will approach by the East Entrance. The lower doors will be opened at 3:30 pm and guests will be allowed upstairs at 3:45 pm No person will be admitted without proper entrance card. Newspaper Correspojndents - 5 in number - will be assigned positions in the corridor near the main stairs. A platform will be erected at the East side of the East Room immediately opposite the main door. Ropes will be stretched from each side of the main door to posts placed on each side of this platform. No one will be permitted inside of these ropes but the immediate relatives of Miss Wilson and Mr. Sayre. After the doors are opened the guests will be shown immediately to the East Room. Those arriving at the south edoor will use the elevator and back stairs and will be shown to the South snide of East Room by way of the main corridor and Green Room. The Aides will place all officials on the East side of this half of the room. The relatives will occupy the West side.The main body of guests arriving by the East Entrance will be shown directly into the East Room. Of these guests, all relatives, or any of the guests enumerated above as entitled to entrance at the South Gate who may arrive by the main entrance, will be escorted by the ushers through the main corridor and Green Room to the South end of the East Room.

Should the East Room become so crowded as to hold no more guests they will be permitted to stand in the main vestibule North of the pillars until after the Bridal party has entered the East Room when they may be permitted to advance to the main doorway.

The Green and Blue Rooms will be kept clear of people. At 4:25 Mrs. Wilson, accompanied by the immediate family and Colonel Harts, will descend the stairs and enter the East Room by the main door and take position inside of the ropes. Members of the Bride’s family will be on the left-hand side and those of the Bridegroom’s family will be on the right-hand side. A sufficienytly broad aisle will, at all times, be maintained here by the Aides detailed for the purpose for the Bridal party to approach and depart. Members of Mr. Sayre’s family who are to stand within the ropes will be escorted by the ushers to the Red Room upon arrival, where they will remain until they take their position in the East Room just preceding the ceremony. All members of the immediate family are expected to assemble upstairs at 4:15 shaprp. Mr. Sayre his Best Man, th and the ministers will come down the main stairs and start from the arch when the Wedding Party starts from the Dining Room. They will proceed to their positions at the foor of the platform. At 4:30 pm Miss Wilson, escorted by the President, will enter the main corridor from the Dining Room and, preceded by the Ushers and Bridesmaids, will pass into the East Room to the platform. After the ceremony the Bridal Party will proceed through the corridor to the Blue Room via. the North door. The Ministers will follow and turn at the main stiaircase to go upstairs. The President and Mrs. Wilson and the immediate relatives will follow them and pass on into the Blue Room. Shortly afterwards the President and Mrs. Wilson will take posiition in the Blue Room facing East, at the Northeast door of that room, and will receive the guests who will be presented by Colonel Harts. The guests will pass on and be received by the Bridal Party at the South end of the room. Lieutenant Rockwell will make the introductions there. The guests will then pass out through the Red Room into the Dining Room where refreshments will be served. The South end of the East Room will be partially emptied first and at the proper time the ropes at the center of the room will be removed and the guests from the North end permitted to join the others in the line. The Bridal Table will be in the Breakfast room where the Bridal Party will proceed immediately after the reception. This room should be kept closed until that time. After supper the Bridal Party will proceed upstairs to be photographed.
