Dear Cary

A few of us here are making our arrangements to go after the bluefish when the season opens up at Oregon Inlet. It is only about a two hour drive from here and we stay at a little club there and have a great time.

I am enclosing you a short article that appeared in one of the Norfolk papers Sunday and am writing to ask if you could not come down and stay with me and so some real fishing. Our fishing guide is going to telephone us as soon as the bluefish begin to run. The best season is usually from the 6th to 15th of May when they come into the Inlet in search of the herring which has spawned up the Sound. I know you enjoy fishing and if you can come down for a few days I believe I can promise you as fine a fish as you have ever had. They run from 5 to 9 pounds and are as game as a rainbow trout. There are three or four delightful men in our party and I know you would really enjoy it.

I expect to be in Washington next week but am sending you this so that you will have time to think about it and try and make your plans. Am writing in great haste but want to get this off to you today.

Sincerely yours,

JS Barron
