Sweetheart

Last night I became anxious about you, and more so, to hear the sound of your voice, so I telephoned; but the answer came back that you were at the Opera. While I was disappointed not to be able to have a few words with you, nevertheless, it was a great comfort to know that you were not sick.

Mr. Murray told me to-day that a message came about ten o’clock this morning that Miss Gordon could be reached now in New York.

Last night I went to a wonderful party at the DuPonts, I danced and danced and did not come home until three o’clock. I wished and wished for you, darling. I really had a great time. Many of my old friends were there and all seemed glad to see me, and some even made a little noise about me—again; I wished for you—I was egotistic enough to believe that you have liked to hear it. Misses—Gladys Ingalls—and your friend Helen Wolcott were there. But, my precious darling, the more I see of others, the more I value and appreciate how wonderful and fine you are—and what a very lucky man I am to have your great love.

When I experience any real pleasure I wish for you, dear, to be there. I shall be such a happy man when you are with me, always— This afternoon I called on Mrs. Townsend, also, made a few other calls—This is a brief letter; but my heart is overflowing with love for you—the finest and dearest girl—
