Dear Allen:-
I was delighted to receive your letter of the 7th instant, but was disappointed to have missed seeing you during your visit in Washington at Christmas time. In the circumstances this time I will forgive you for not letting me know you were here, but I do not think it would be safe for you to try a similar experiment again. The boys continue to enjoy their music chair and are constantly showing it to visitors.
All three of them join with Mrs. Grayson and myself in affectionate regards and best wishes for Mrs. Allen and yourself for the New Year.
Sincerely yours,
Cary T. Grayson
