My dear Friend:
Thank you warmly for your letter of October 15th. It does a fellow a lot of good to have a word of encouragement from a friend during these trying days. Things are looking a little brighter than they were when I saw you last.
I am glad to have your address because I should love to have a visit with you when I come to New York, but the prospects for such a trip are not very encouraging. So I hope you will let me know when you are in Washington. A warm welcome to you and Mrs. Allen awaits you always at 1600 Sixteenth Street by Mrs. Grayson, the two real men, and
Your affectionate friend,
Cary T. Grayson
